TextbookRebellion.org is a movement of students, parents, professors and organizations inspired to take action against skyrocketing college textbook prices. The textbook publishing industry is broken. We’re raising awareness of the problem of textbook affordability and seeking solutions, like open-license textbooks.
We enlist the support of students and campus associations, as well as parents, faculty, administrators, legislators, and creators of open educational resources.

The Student Public Interest Research Groups (Student PIRGs) is a national network of non-profit, non-partisan student advocacy groups that work on public interest issues pertaining to the environment, consumer protection and government reform. For the last eight years, the Student PIRGs' Make Textbooks Affordable campaign has led a national movement against rising textbook prices through research, advocacy and grassroots organizing.

Committed to making higher education more affordable and accessible, the company provides students with free online access to complete, high quality textbooks, with options to purchase affordable print and digital formats, including e-books, audio books, PDF downloads and interactive study aids. Flat World’s open license and online editing platform enable professors to modify the content and create the “perfect book” for their course. To date, more than 1600 professors at over 900 colleges in 44 countries have used Flat World open textbooks. Backed by top venture capital firms, Flat World Knowledge was named along with Apple, Facebook and Google as one of the information industry’s "30 to Watch" in 2011 by Outsell, Inc.

Campus Progress is the youth division of the Center for American Progress, a nonpartisan, nonprofit progressive organization. Through programs in activism, journalism, and events, Campus Progress helps young people make their voices heard now on issues that matter, and works with young leaders and organizations nationwide to build a strong, united progressive movement that can bring long-term positive change. Campus Progress runs a daily web magazine, CampusProgress.org; supports student publications on 50 campuses; supports local and national youth issue campaigns; and has held over 900 events. Rock the Vote's mission is to engage and build political power for young people in our country. Using music, popular culture, new technologies and grassroots organizing for more than 20 years, Rock the Vote has registered more than 5 million young people, including a record-shattering 2.5 million registration downloads in the historic 2008 election. In 2010, Rock the Vote logged more than 300,000 voter registration downloads as part of the largest midterm election outreach strategy in our organization's history. As the tidal wave of Millennial generation voters continues to establish its power at the polls, Rock the Vote will register millions more young people and make their voices heard. In 2011, Rock the Vote will lead the charge toward making our electoral process more accesible to young people through our high school civics program, Democracy Class, by rallying young people to stop unfair registration laws, and educating prospective 2012 candidates on how to incorporate young people in their campaigns.
The University of Maryland SGA is a group of dedicated students who work to voice concerns, organize programs, and influence university policy to better the experience of students at the University of Maryland. The SGA advocates for students on the local, state, and national level, funds student groups, and works to improve the campus community.

The Worldwide Center of Mathematics exists to promote and disseminate mathematical knowledge at all levels to help increase the knowledge of the community as a whole. The Center's activities include producing multimedia-enriched textbooks and video lectures, and publishing an online-only, refereed journal of research in singularity theory.
