It’s no secret that textbook prices are rising four times faster than the rate of inflation. Too many students spend well over $1,000 per year on textbooks, and it’s going up. These skyrocketing costs impede access to quality, affordable education. We can fix this!
It has to start with the publishers. What if we could read great textbooks for free online, and have the option to buy those same books at seriously affordable prices in print and other formats? How about great books that are open for faculty to alter and adapt? Students deserve the freedom to choose the best format and price; faculty deserve the freedom to make a good book even better.
A compiled petition of names, schools, and comments (e-mail addresses withheld) will be delivered to government officials and educators who can help bring change. Thank you for helping raise awareness.
